Foreign athletes and specialists watch ski competitions in Russia and are jealous. This opinion was expressed by Elena Vyalbe, President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR).
According to her, Russian competitions can be compared with international ones.
“It’s no secret that foreigners are watching us, looking at us. Of course, they envy us. Now we are holding the Spartakiad in a wonderful center in Tyumen, we have a gorgeous track, excellent conditions, everything is super.”– said Vyalbe, her words are quoted by TASS.
She also stated that she is not interested in international tournaments and does not follow them.
The Spartakiad competitions are held from February 9 to 18 in the Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, in the Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories.
Earlier it was reported that three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov took gold in skiathlon at the Spartakiad of the Strongest. The competition takes place in Tyumen. There, skier Veronika Stepanova won the skiathlon.
