Ukrainian national team star Zinchenko stood up for the fan who was dragged from the field by Polish police (video)

Polish police tried to catch the fan and remove him from the field. The football player wanted to prevent this, but it is obvious that the law enforcement officers did not listen to the warnings of the Ukrainian captain.

Alexander Zinchenko, midfielder/defender for the Ukrainian national team and London Arsenal, tried to protect a Ukrainian fan from a Polish police officer who was holding his arms. Some spectators came onto the pitch after the strong victory against Iceland, which ensured the Blue and Yellows’ qualification for Euro 2024. Video published On social network X.

A police officer tried to grab one of the fans and take him off the field, but Zinchenko tried to prevent this. Apparently, law enforcement did not listen to the warnings of the Ukrainian captain and still took the criminal under the stands.

The actions of the captain of the Ukrainian team were appreciated by the fans in the stands.

After defeating the Spaniards, Ukraine will face their opponents in the following group at Euro 2024: Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.

It is not uncommon for fans to rush onto the field en masse after a team’s victory. At the same time, football players’ jerseys are sometimes taken apart as souvenirs. Local police are generally tolerant of this.

A similar incident occurred in the Georgia-Greece match played in Tbilisi, as well as the Ukraine-Iceland match played the day before on March 26. While the Georgian national team managed to participate in the European Championship for the first time, fans flocked to the field. Unlike Ukraine, Georgia played at home and the broadcast footage did not show the police using force.

Meanwhile, in the history of world football, there has been a time when football players themselves stood up strongly alongside the fans.

Local Dinamo hosted arch-rival Red Star Belgrade at the Maksimir in Zagreb on 13 May 1990. The police intervened in the match, which turned into a fan fight. When 22-year-old future Milan star Zvonimir Boban saw a policeman beating a Dinamo fan, he responded by kicking him. This incident turned the football player into a national hero.

Let us also remind you that the Ukrainian coach who went abroad found a job in the USA.

It was also learned that the Ukrainian team beat the Bosnians in the previous match. It was another strong-willed victory: they had to fight back after Salzburg defender Amar Dedich struck from outside the penalty area.
