For education: Google allocates 2 million dollars to Ukraine – Fedorov

According to Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Google will provide Ukraine with a grant for digital education of the population and 50,000 Workspace licenses for the government.

Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov held a meeting with representatives of the American company Google. The company has pledged to allocate $2 million for the education of Ukrainian citizens in the field of technology. The minister wrote this on his Telegram channel.

“Google supports the development of digital literacy among Ukrainians and the education sector. We will use a new $2 million grant to train Ukrainians in digital literacy, bridge the digital gap and grow the Dia.Digital Education platform,” the minister said.

Mikhail Fedorov writes that Google services are part of the infrastructure of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. He noted that with the help of the American company, Ukrainian departments could work despite the rocket attacks and threats of cyber attacks.

50,000 free Google Workspace licenses provided to Ukraine for the next year will contribute to the uninterrupted operation of government agencies. The mentioned set of services allows companies to integrate their own domains with some Google products.

Fedorov also announced the launch of the English version of the site, which includes programs for specializing in new professions and employment offers. According to him, the portal will help many Ukrainians to master the specialties in demand in the labor market, thereby supporting the Ukrainian economy.

Earlier, Fedorov reported that Ukraine has access to finance for digital projects worth 6 billion euros under the EU’s Digital Europe program. The program includes areas such as high performance computing, artificial intelligence and the use of digital technologies in the economy and society.
