NIO continues to grow and today announced that it produced its 300,000th electric car. A lot has changed since it started producing its first model in 2018, and today this Chinese automaker is pursuing an ambitious expansion plan even outside of China.
Speaking of 2022, the brand emphasizes that it has deliveries of models ET7, ES7 and ET5 started on the new NT2.0 platform. From the looks of it, 2023 is going to be a very interesting year as the manufacturer plans to release 5 new models to meet the different needs of buyers.
As for the growth plan, NIO recalls that it has started selling its vehicles in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, has set up an Innovation Center in Berlin, and opened a research and development center in Singapore for artificial intelligence and autonomous driving. Curiously, model number 300,000 is a blue ET5 sedan.
A key part of NIO’s growth plan it is battery replacement technology. As we know, the Chinese brand announced at the end of November that more than 1,200 battery replacement stations were operational in China. NIO’s goal remains to have more than 4,000 battery replacement stations available by 2025, 1,000 of which, however, outside of China (mostly in Europe).
In fact, the automaker has begun installing the first battery change stations. even in the Old Continent, in the countries where she started selling her cars. To support the growth of its network of battery exchange stations, NIO has opened a plant in Hungary where it manufactures battery exchange stations for Europe.
