Yury Kasyanov, an employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the founder of the A.Drones project, in an article for the Zerkalo Nedeli publication, told what kind of unmanned aerial vehicles will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces to qualitatively influence the situation at the front. .
Yuri believes that war itself has changed thanks to drones. Aircraft simplified the delivery of ammunition and drugs, simplified the guidance of artillerymen, reconnaissance, made possible the use of electronic warfare, and most importantly, repeatedly saved military time. In the article, the author draws attention to the fact that such expensive and large UAVs, such as Bayraktar, worth 7 million dollars, are not suitable for performing one-off and specific tasks. Kasyanov writes that cheap and large numbers of unmanned aerial vehicles should be used at the front.
“Ahead … there is a severe shortage of drones and helicopters at 200-300 times lower price (because the budget is not rubber) … buying super expensive and complex equipment will not help us win the war,” writes the author.
Kasyanov blames the military department and law enforcement agencies for the fact that his representatives have excessive requirements for combat aircraft. This is exactly why expensive, but not always effective devices are purchased.
“The high level of complexity and low reliability, multiplied by the poor training of the crew (after all, there is no time to prepare for battle), leads to catastrophic losses, both financially and quantitatively,” Yury said.
He believes that Ukraine does not have time to compensate for the loss of UAVs, therefore, despite the efforts of volunteers and the state, they are constantly falling short.
“… the state, the military department, the large volunteer funds follow a completely different policy: they advertise, buy, put into service the most expensive, most “efficient”, “classiest” drones – complex and therefore unreliable warfare – cheap instead, an “ideal” is bought, where it is possible to buy 10 devices that are simple and with functionality and capabilities reaching 90% of the Ideal,” the author explains his position.
Kasyanov once again insists that Ukraine produce its Shahedas cheaply, reliably and in large quantities. Especially after the RF Armed Forces started to use Iranian UAVs intensively, there should be a lot of such equipment to change the course on the front.
“We need drones that are relatively cheap, proven and mass-produced – hundreds or even thousands of units per month.
Yuriy believes that all the conditions for establishing this type of production are in our country, regrets that “only there is no state policy, there is no will, there is no management team,” but hopes that changes will be for the better.
“There is no doubt that the situation will change. The logic of the war is pushing the Ukrainian unmanned industry towards rapid changes. Since February 24, several times more drones have been developed, manufactured and used in Ukraine than in the previous 8 years. … Engels, Diaghilev, There will be even more drones that will declare themselves in Moscow and Vladivostok, as they have already announced in Kursk, Sevastopol, Novoshakhtinsk and other places where the Russian army is based,” concludes the author.
