During excavations in the city of Dumyat al-Jadida, 150km northeast of Cairo, scientists have discovered 20 ancient burial sites belonging to unknown persons, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Currently, scientists have discovered that all these burials of ancient Egyptians belong to the era of the 26th pharaonic dynasty in ancient Egypt. During this period from 688 to 525 BC, Ancient Egypt was an independent state and its capital was the city of Sais. However, during this time other countries tried to conquer Egypt from time to time, and finally in 525, the Persians succeeded.

Until now, little is known about exactly who was buried in the ancient tombs, what these people got sick from, why they died, and what class they belonged to. Scientists continue their research, because the discovery of new ancient Egyptian tombs was known only on December 20 this year.

According to representatives of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, scientists have found grave goods in the form of golden idols depicting ancient gods in some tombs. Among them, scholars have identified the goddess Isis, who was associated with healing and magic, the cat-headed goddess Bastet, who was considered the patroness of humans, and the falcon-headed god Horus.

According to Campbell Price of the University of Manchester in England, who was not involved in the excavations, scientists now know that the ancient Egyptians believed their gods were made of golden flesh.

“The placement of these golden idols on the body of a deceased person could have affected his “divinity.” That is, on the one hand, the deceased enjoyed almost equal rights with the gods and merged with them, on the other hand, these idols protected him from the wrath of the same gods. At least, that’s what they thought in ancient Egypt. ,” says Price.

Also, archeology discovered the remains of the canopy – these are special burial vessels in which the Egyptians kept the organs of a deceased person. Even in the tombs, scientists discovered scarab-shaped amulets that were very popular in ancient Egypt and believed to have rejuvenating power.

Focus He had already written that in the Egyptian necropolis, scientists had discovered 3,500-year-old gold jewelry found at the funeral of a young woman.

same Focus He wrote that the heads of nine crocodiles were found in the tombs of ancient Egyptian nobles.
