The new Zeekr X, formerly known as the Zeekr 003, will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2023. the third model of the Chinese brand Zeekr which is part of the Geely group. The electric car that the automaker recently shared a series of first official images about.
Now, thanks to some information leaked from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), we know something about Specifications this car, which should also enter the European market.
Zeekr X is based on Geely SEA Platform, also used by Smart #1 and the upcoming Volvo EX30. According to the leaks, it will measure 4450mm long, 1836mm wide and 1572mm high, with a wheelbase of 2750mm. Alloy wheels will be 19 and 20 inches.
This new model will be offered with two different powertrains: the first with one motor 200 kW and the second with 315 kW dual electric propulsion system. In fact, these are the same devices that are present today in the new Smart #1, which we have already had the opportunity to test. The top speed will be 185 km/h for the single engine model and 190 km/h for the twin engine version. For the higher performance model, Zeekr previously promised a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in about 4 seconds.
No battery details have surfaced, but since the powertrains are the same as the Smart #1, it’s possible we’ll also find the same 66kWh battery that will deliver over 400km of range under the WLTP cycle. However, we will have to wait until April, when the Shanghai Auto Show takes place, to find out all its full specifications. The car therefore seems interesting on paper, first of all thinking about the European market.
The Zeekr X will hit the Chinese auto market early in the second quarter, and then it should also debut in the European market. As we know, the Chinese brand Geely Group intends to take a place in the Old Continent, selling vehicles such as the Zeekr 001 and the new Zeekr X. Sales should start in some select European countries, including Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands.
