The debut of the new generation Volkswagen Passat is approaching. Automotive News Europe spoke to Thomas SchaeferCEO of the German brand, announcing that deliveries of the new model will begin next September. It means that presentation it will take place much earlier, even if the exact date has not yet been announced.
Number one Volkswagen has once again confirmed that the new Passat will be offered only in Variant version, i.e. universal. As you know, the automaker had already stopped production of the current generation sedan version towards the end of last year to focus solely on the station wagon.
Instead, the new Skoda Superb will continue to be offered strictly as a sedan. mechanically bound to the new Passat, a model that will go on sale towards the end of the year. The German manager also added that the new Passat was developed by Skoda, but did not go into details.
Both of these new vehicles will be built at the plant in Bratislava, Slovakia. The Passat was originally built in Emden, Germany, where the Volkswagen ID.4 is made today.
