A Chinese company introduces a kissing device for lovers from a distance

Chinese company Siweifushe has unveiled a prototype MUA, a device that allows the user to remotely send and receive kisses through silicone lips, an invention inspired by the lockdown during the pandemic.

After installing the app on a mobile phone, a person can transmit their own kisses through silicone lips that move at the same time as the kisses a couple receives are played back, Sichuan Guancha media reported.

Sounds, temperature and “binding”

The device determines the movements of the lips with the help of sensors and the intensity of the kiss emitter. In addition, users can record the sound of a kiss so that the other party can play it back and feel the silicone lips warm up slightly.

Sources from the app company explained to local Jimu News that the couple could ‘tether’ two devices to ‘software’ in such a way that they couldn’t kiss the other user.

For those who don’t have a partner, the mobile app also has a mode called “Kiss Bank” where members can try kisses from different people.

The invention was inspired during the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was China that was a very restrictive country regarding contacts, and many citizens spent days or months without leaving their homes.

“I had a partner back then, but I couldn’t meet my girlfriend because of the quarantine,” MUA inventor Zhao Jianbo told The Guardian.

Criticism and success

On social media in China, where the product has received a lot of attention, some netizens have commented that it may be useful for long-distance couples.

In the first two weeks after the product’s launch, the company sold about 3,000 devices, receiving about 20,000 orders, Zhao said. The product costs about 280 yuan ($41) on Chinese e-commerce platforms and is available in a variety of colors.

However, many internet users question whether the device makes any sense, calling it “deviant” or “absurd”. Many criticize the lack of a silicone tongue in the mouth, which they consider to be a fundamental flaw in the kissing machine.
