Drone caught from a new batch of Shahed-136 in the Poltava region (photo)

Experts noticed several distinctive elements in the device, including “messages” for Ukrainians on the covers.

Russia is using Iranian Shahed-136 drones from a new group to attack Ukraine. This was reported on Telegram by the Kiev Research Institute of Forensic Examination (KNIISE) after the study.

Ukrainian experts examined the Iranian-made Shahed-136 attack drone, which Ukrainian defenders landed in the Poltava region and captured. They noticed that the font and some elements were different from those fixed on previous devices of the same model.

“This indicates that the transferred drone belongs to a new batch of Iranian drones. Its work will be part of the evidence of the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine,” KNIISE said.

One of the distinguishing features of the UAV was the inscription on the wings. Probably, initially the manufacturers brought there the phrase “Do not buy”, but the Russians deleted one letter to “Not brother”. Experts suggested that in this way the Russian military wanted to convey their attitude towards the Ukrainians.

“We totally agree with him—we’re not brothers, we never were, and we never will be,” the researchers wrote.

The head of the press center of the “Southern” operational command said that the Russian Armed Forces began to use a new batch of Shahed to attack Ukraine – this is evidenced by the markings on one of the UAVs that attacked Odessa on April 19. On April 20, the invaders launched 26 such drones, of which the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to shoot down 21, and the next day they sent another 12, according to Natalya Gumenyuk, the Russians suspended their launches in anticipation of a new batch. Iranian drones, but now they are actively using it again.

Recently it was written that Russia began to install a secure satellite navigation system on Shahed. On the other hand, captured drones increasingly contain outdated components, indicating the lack of modern chips.

They also wrote that Shahed drones are equipped with technologies stolen from Europe. Conflict Armaments Research researchers have for the first time obtained evidence that Iran is copying German and British-made engines.
