According to ceramic restorer Ivan Kostenko, one of the participants in the excavations, the soil there is completely solid, and therefore it is not surprising that the objects found belong to different periods.
“There are exhibits here both from ancient Russia and from the 14th and 18th centuries. The archaeological material is very, very diverse.”
Viktor Vetrov, head of the archeology sector at the Mezhybizh State Historical and Cultural Reserve, states that the latest artifacts have not yet been exhibited.
“One of the finds that no one has seen yet and scientifically processed in the field, 11-12. 16th century,” says the researcher.
It is known that archaeologists have also found mussels and buttons from the 17th century.
