The Alfa Romeo 4C is a 2-seater, rear-wheel drive, mid-engined sports car launched in 2013 and available until 2020 in coupe and spider versions. This model immediately achieved great success among the automaker’s enthusiasts.
To celebrate tenth anniversary 4C, the Stellantis Heritage Department announced the project “Designer cut Alfa Romeo 4C”whereby an exclusive copy will be made (unique copy) by individual order Alessandro Maccolini, head of design projects at Alfa Romeo. This model will be sold as a real collector’s item.
McCollini explains that in order to design this exclusive one-of-a-kind 4C, he identified three aesthetic features from which he drew inspiration. The first trend called “4C Tributo” is historical, playing on red. We then explore a second setting, “racing”, called the “4C Corsa”, which is expressed by matte gray liveries that accentuate the sports car’s shapes. Finally, the “4C legend”, which “combines sportiness with brand history” and is characterized by the use of pastel colors, including blue combined with white circles.
To create this unique 4C based product, I identified three aesthetic features that could inspire me. I already have an idea of what I would like to develop, but I would also like to attract fans of the brand. Over the years, I have experienced first hand the world of Alfa Romeo clubs and have had the opportunity to see many versions of the 4C, in all colors, with different paint types and configurations, even with some pretty deep tuning. Well, I would like to involve them in this project to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 4C along with a very special release.
Nothing should change mechanically. Recall that the Alfa Romeo 4C has a carbon fiber monocoque. Thanks to the use of aluminum and composite materials, the brand has managed to reduce the weight of the coupe to 895 kg. The heart of the car is a 1750cc 4-cylinder turbo engine. cm, capable of developing a power of 176 kW (240 hp). This model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of over 250 km/h.
With the Alfa Romeo 4C Designer’s Cut, Stellantis continues its project, which began last year with the Abarth Classiche 1000 SP, to create exclusive examples based on discontinued cars.
