Kia EV3 and EV4: new electric concepts October 12, 2023 16

In addition to sharing many details about the new EV5, Kia I showed new electric concepts EV3 and EV4 during Kia Electric Vehicle Day held in Korea. These prototypes preview the contents of two new models that the Korean manufacturer intends to launch on the market next year.

The Kia EV3, EV4 and EV5 will play a major role in the automaker’s electrification plan, which aims to reach an annual sales target of one million electric vehicles by 2026, followed by 1.6 million units annually by 2030.

KIA EV3

Kia EV3 This is an SUV which will be positioned underneath the Kia EV5, and while it shares some similarities with the EV5 and EV9, it features softer lines compared to the boxier lines of the larger models. The automaker declined to reveal many details of the concept.

In addition to showing off the exterior, Kia also revealed the interior, which features ergonomic natural fiber seats. The exterior design is minimalist and the dashboard is dominated by a large instrument and infotainment screen. What’s special is that the console was made from mycelium using a process called biofabrication.

The rear seats can be folded down to increase cargo capacity, and electric scooters or electric bicycles powered by V2L technology can also be carried.

Nothing is said about the mechanics, but it is likely that the car has E-GMP Platform from Hyundai Group, which supports 800V architecture for ultra-high power charging. The production version of the Kia EV3 is expected to debut next year.

KIA EV4

Kia EV4 – concept of one electric sedan. Again, not many details were provided. The concept’s shape is somewhat reminiscent of the EV6. However, the EV4 is slightly lower and smaller. However, the front end is characterized by a number of elements reminiscent of the styling of the EV5 and EV9, such as the tall, very slim headlights.

The EV4’s interior follows the path taken by the EV3, using environmentally friendly materials such as hemp fiber and 100% recycled cotton. The concept also features a new Mind Modes feature that adjusts ambient lighting and climate control based on your mood.

The automaker claims that there is plenty of space inside the cabin. Although it has not been announced yet, the car is expected to be equipped with an E-GMP platform. The production version will appear after the EV3 version, but exact details have not been provided.
