IM LS6, the new electric SUV from SAIC and Alibaba, will debut in China on October 13, 2023. 5

IM Motors is a joint venture between SAIC Motor, Zhangiang Hi-Tech and Alibaba, created to bring electric models to the market. Chinese car manufacturer born in 2020 introduced new SUV IM LS6. This is the third model from IM Motors. This new car is offered in four different versions with prices included. from 229,900 to 291,900 yuan (29,820 euros and 37,870 euros). However, until November 12, the automaker is offering a discount of 12,000 yuan from the list price (1,560 euros).

DIMENSIONS AND ENGINES

IM LS6 measure Length 4904 mm, width 1988 mm, height 1669 mm, wheelbase 2950 mm. A lot of work has been done to optimize the aerodynamics as much as possible to make the car more fuel efficient. The result is a Cd of 0.237. The trunk volume reaches 665 liters (1640 liters with the rear seats folded). Depending on the version, the wheels are 20 or 21 inches.

In the cabin we find a lot of technology. In fact, it stands out large 23.6-inch panel for instruments and infotainment system. Optionally, the front passenger can get an additional 15.5-inch screen. In the central tunnel you can notice the presence of another display, from which you can control a number of vehicle functions. Under the monitor there are two cup holders and a wireless charging pad. A special feature is that the SUV has a steering wheel, the shape of which is somewhat reminiscent of the steering wheel of the new Tesla Model S/Model X.

As mentioned at the beginning, the new IM LS6 SUV is offered in several different versions. The former has a single electric motor located on the rear axle with 231 kW of power and 450 Nm of torque, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The unit is powered by a 71 kWh battery, providing a range of 560 km on the CLTC cycle. The second, however, offers a more powerful engine with 250 kW and 450 Nm of torque, powered by a 90 kWh battery, providing a range of 680 km, but always according to the CLTC cycle. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h always takes 5.9 seconds. The first two models have a maximum speed of 200 km/h.


Moving up a level, the third version offers a 379 kW (500 Nm) engine and a 100 kWh battery with a range of 760 km (CLTC). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, top speed 220 km/h. At the top of the range we find a model with two engines and all-wheel drive. A total of 579 kW and 800 Nm are available. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.5 seconds, and the top speed is 252 km/h. Thanks to the 100 kWh battery, the range reaches 702 km (CLTC).

Driving assistance systems can rely on a platform based on the NVIDIA Orin chip.
