Ford is pushing ahead with its plan to electrify Europe. The manufacturer has already presented a new electric Explorer, which we will see on European roads in early 2024. Another battery-powered crossover will also debut next year, of which we’ve recently seen a few spy photos. Both of these models, developed for the Old Continent, are based on the MEB platform, which the blue oval house received under license from Volkswagen. However, the automaker also plans to launch electric version of Puma which will also debut next year.
Now this model has been intercepted during a series of road tests.
Spy photos they show the car, clearly still camouflaged. However, it can be noted that the car is characterized by a closed grille, given the absence of an internal combustion engine. It is possible that there is some changes to the bumper and headlights compared to the current endothermic model, given that the battery option should be based on the next Puma facelift.
The electric model could have specially designed wheels. As for the interior, there should not be any special differences from the endothermic version. However, since this is a battery-powered car, we are sure to find special features at the infotainment system level.
In terms of powertrain, the new Ford Puma should have the same unit as the E-Transit Courier. This would mean being able to have 100 kW (136 hp). The blue oval house hasn’t revealed details about the battery, but we already know that it can be charged with direct current up to 100 kW.
