Cupra Born was the Spanish automaker’s first electric model. Based on the Volkswagen ID.3, the Cupra has now been updated VZ version which offers significantly higher performance thanks to the presence of a power unit consisting of 2 electric motors. The new drivetrain consists of two motors, one per axle, capable of producing total power. 240 kW (326 hp) and torque 545 Nm.. In terms of performance, Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.7 seconds., and the maximum speed is 200 km/h (electronically limited). All this is powered by a battery that has net power 79 kWh (+2 kWh). Autonomy comes to 570 km according to the WLTP cycle.
As for energy sources, DC recharging up to a maximum power of 170 kW can be carried out from the KDP column (from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes). On alternating current, however, up to 11 kW. Thanks to the presence of paddles behind the steering wheel, three levels of regeneration can be selected.
This new model can also count on revised suspension tuning thanks to new shock absorbers to improve driving dynamics and better manage the increase in power. The braking system has also been improved.
