Closer to mid-2021 Quimera Cars presented his first car. It was the EVO37, a restomod, that allowed the revival of the legendary Lancia 037, the true rally queen of the past. Now the company introduced EVO38, his second project. This is a natural evolution of the EVO37: the new car will be produced in just 38 units.

Kimera EVO38 measure Length 4055 mm, width 1905 mm, height 1200 mm, wheelbase 2520 mm. The weight of the car is approximately 1100 kg, like the EVO37, despite the presence of all-wheel drive. Compared to the EVO37, the new model can count on four wheel drive vehicle which uses a distribution control system and electro-hydraulic differential locks. This system allows differential calibration directly from the cab. In this way, the driver will be able to control the percentage of traction distribution between the front and rear axles, as well as the ability to control the differential lock.
There will also be an opportunity completely eliminate the front differential to have, essentially, a rear-wheel drive car. This will also be possible from the cockpit, using the steering wheel controls. interfere with suspension calibration. The car can rely on a lifting system that allows you to lift the car slightly when necessary, such as when you have to deal with bumpy roads, dirt roads, garage ramps, etc.
The rear chassis layout retains the double side spring central shock absorber typical of Group B models of the 1980s, while the front layout will be a modern layout with push-on road shock absorbers.
As for the engine, we find a 2150 cc 4-cylinder turbocharged engine coupled with a positive displacement compressor. Compared to EVO37, power increases to 600 hp.. However, the torque reaches 550 Nm. To increase the power, the company has worked on various aspects of the engine such as the positive displacement compressor and the distribution system.
The gearbox is always manual, 6 speeds., but with an even shorter gear ratio than the EVO37. The company is also working on an electrically driven sequential transmission with a front clutch. Nothing was said about performance. More details will likely be revealed when the car is unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
