Company commander Alexander Karpyuk says that the problem of inconsistency between electronic warfare and UAV units arose a year ago, but now the situation at the front has deteriorated sharply.
A large amount of Ukrainian electronic warfare equipment was brought to the direction of Donetsk, which suppresses the Defense Forces’ own unmanned aerial vehicles and makes it difficult to repel attacks by the Russian army. The threatening situation was reported on Facebook by the commander of the attack drone company, junior sergeant Alexander Karpyuk (Serge Marco).
According to Karpyuk, so far the large amount of electronic warfare equipment only prevents the infantry from conducting combat operations in the Donetsk region. Operators of electronic intelligence equipment (ERI) notice that radio interference frequently interrupts the operation of Ukrainian drones.
“This is a situation where they give us equipment but not brains,” the military man said. “The assets behind us are suppressing our own aircraft, preventing them from operating during offensive operations, and hindering navigation in the sector.”
He notes that we are not talking about trench-based Ukrainian electronic warfare systems, but about powerful machines that operate without coordination with UAV teams. In fact, by doing this they are helping Russia’s Pole-21 facilities. According to Alexander, electronic warfare facilities were operating more efficiently before new ones were delivered to this site. Now Russian drones fly relatively freely on the battlefield, but Ukrainian drones cannot even take off.
