He was fired from superheroes. Henry Cavill says he will never play Superman again

Cavill turned down the role of Witcher in the new series to be able to take a role in the new movie.

British actor Henry Cavill posted a sad post in which he announced that he will no longer be playing Superman. At least in the new movie starring James Gunn and Peter Safran. The Daily Mail writes about it.

The actor is officially stepping down from the role of Clark Kent following news that he will be reprising the role of Man of Steel in November.

This comes just days after Wonder Woman 3 closed with Gal Gadot.

Cavill said he understands and accepts the decision of Gunn and Safran, who are currently leading the DC Universe.

“I just met James Gunn and Peter Safran, and I have some sad news for you all. After all, I won’t be returning to the role of Superman. It’s not easy to deliver that news, after the studio announced my transformation in October. Cavill tweeted, “I respect this choice. “James and Peter will have to build a whole universe, and I wish them and everyone in the new universe good luck and happiness.”

“For those who have supported me over the years. We may cry a little, but after that we must remember that Superman is still there. Everything he represented is still with us, and the example he gave us is with us,” Cavill concluded. What he stands for will never go away. It was a fun time, but we need to move forward.”

Cavill, 39, planned to return to the big screen as Superman after his sneaky cameo in Black Adam. However, that was before James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed as the new presidents of DC Films.

Gunn has already revealed that the new Superman movie will focus on the hero’s early years, so Cavill won’t be able to play Clark Kent. However, he said they had met with Henry Cavill and discussed the possibility of future cooperation.

Gunn is writing the script for a new movie, the director hasn’t been appointed yet, maybe he will be himself. Separately, James noted that Ben Affleck could direct the future picture of the cinematic universe: both the studio and Ben himself want to direct the film, but a suitable project is needed.

While not a full-fledged script, the new Superman movie shouldn’t be expected before 2025.

Recall that Henry Cavill turned down the role of Geralt the Witcher in the TV series of the same name for this role. And he introduced his replacement, Liam Hemsworth. It is possible, however, that he will return to his monster-fighting role.
