Chocolate cake for tea: a melt-in-your-mouth dessert

To make the cake tastier, it is better to keep it longer in the refrigerator before decorating.

Food blogger Lyudmila Borshch offers a delicious chocolate cake with prunes and a delicate cream of condensed milk and butter, according to her recipe. He guarantees that this dessert will not take much time and will be appreciated by guests and households.

Chocolate cake with prunes

Ingredients:

  • flour – 300 g;
  • sugar – 200 g;
  • baking powder – 2 tsp;
  • Eggs – 2 pcs .;
  • Cocoa – 50 g;
  • Kefir – 250 ml;
  • Vanilla sugar – 10 g;
  • Salt.

for the cream:

  • Butter – 200 g;
  • Condensed milk – 1 can;
  • hazelnuts – 50 g;
  • Prunes – 100 gr.

for impregnation:

  • Powdered sugar 2-3 tbsp. I;
  • water – 50 ml;
  • Cognac – 1 tbsp. l.

Cooking method:

Break the eggs into a deep bowl, add a little salt and sugar, mix well with a whisk or mixer. Next, pour kefir at room temperature and mix again. Then add vanilla sugar and sift some of the flour mixed with cocoa powder and mix everything well again and add the remaining flour mixed with baking powder. The dough will be quite thick.

Cover the form with parchment and pour the dough into it, evenly distributing it over the entire surface.

Send the form to the oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for about 40-45 minutes, check with a wooden skewer for doneness. If the cake is dry when pierced, the cake is ready.

Cut the cooled cake into two parts. Place the bottom one in a removable ring and cut the second cake into cubes.

The next step is to prepare the cream. To do this, knead the room temperature butter with a fork and beat with a mixer for a couple of minutes, then pour in the condensed milk and beat for a few more minutes. Finely chop the hazelnuts, you can use a rolling pin, cut the prunes into small pieces and send everything to the cream, mix well again.

Add powdered sugar and cognac to soak in warm water and spread half of it on the cake.

Stir the cream again, pour the second cake cut into cubes into it and pour the remaining impregnation. Put the mass on the first cake, press well, cover with foil and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight.

Then the cake should be removed from the ring and decorated as desired. Dry breakfast balls can become an interesting decor for him.
