What happened today:

Today the Orthodox Church honors the memory of St. Theoktist. He founded a monastery in Sicily and became its abbot. His monastery became a haven for a large number of monks fleeing the persecution of the iconoclasts. Around 800 died. People called this day Feoktistov’s day.
