Delicious meat dish for every day
In this case, buckwheat is not cooked separately, but boiled together with minced meat and sauce. And rightly so: its taste is unusual and only to a small extent reminiscent of the simple taste of a single buckwheat porridge. We got this version of the recipe from Olga Kovalenko, author of the Let’s Eat At Home project.
Meaty buckwheat a la merchant
Contents
- buckwheat – 150 g;
- onion – 1;
- carrot – 1;
- minced meat – 300 g;
- tomato paste – 2 tbsp. l.;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- vegetable oil;
- bay leaf – 2;
- salt pepper
We cook buckwheat in a merchant way simply and quickly. We wash the buckwheat and dry it in a pan greased with oil.
Fry onions, chopped, grated carrots on a coarse grater and minced meat in vegetable oil. We work on this mixture until the meat and onions acquire a characteristic golden color. Add the tomato paste, mix well.
Finally, it is the turn of the washed and dried buckwheat. Pour the vegetable and meat mixture into the pan. Pour boiling water over it. Add bay leaf. Salt and pepper. Cook over low heat under a lid until the liquid is completely absorbed. Finally, add the finely chopped garlic and mix.
