Famous Russian fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin dies

Famous Russian fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin has died at the age of 59. This was announced by his wife, Marina Yudashkina, writes Meduza. For a long time, the designer suffered from cancer and practically did not appear in public.

“The world has lost a great fashion designer, artist and creator. He has helped many people, especially young and novice designers,” said Yudashkin.

The designer, who has been suffering from cancer for the past few years, continued to work, saying he wanted to find someone who “takes the banner and goes further.”

She appeared before the public last year while presenting her new collection at Moscow Fashion Week.

She was also supposed to attend Paris Fashion Week, but she never mentioned the Russian Armed Forces’ invasion of Ukraine, so the head of the High Fashion Federation, Ralph Toledano, removed her performance.

Valentin Yudashkin began to enter fashion during the USSR. He was born into a working-class family in the village of Bakovka, Moscow Region. He graduated with honors from the Moscow Industrial College in 1986. Studied at the Slava Zaitsev Fashion House.

Yudashkin created his first Faberge collection in 1987, but was only able to show it at Paris Fashion Week in 1991. The collection made a splash, one of the dresses even entered the Louvre exhibition.

Valentin Yudashkin founded the fashion house Valentin Yudashkin, which in 1996 received the status of a corresponding member of the Paris High Fashion Syndicate, a year later the first boutique of the designer was opened in Moscow.

In 1994 and 1996, Yudashkin designed costumes for the Russian Olympic team prior to the Olympic Games in Lillehammer and Atlanta. She dressed Russian stars, among her clients were Alla Pugacheva, Kristina Orbakaite, Philip Kirkorov, Ksenia Sobchak and others.

In 2008, he participated in the development of parade uniforms for soldiers of the RF Armed Forces. On February 6, 2012, Yudashkin was officially registered as a confidant of Vladimir Putin.

The designer was married only once, his wife, Marina Yudashkina, ran her husband’s fashion house. Yudashkin’s daughter, Galina, married the son of actress Lyudmila Maksakova. He has three children.
