What happened today?
Today, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of Hieromartyr Methodius of Patara. He became famous for his struggle against the infidels. Methodius wrote many expositions on Christian subjects, moral instruction, and interpretations of the Scriptures. Once he was captured by pagans, but even in the last minutes of his life he tried to preach the Christian faith. In 312 he was sentenced to death – beheaded.
