Russian writer Boris Akunin added to wanted list

Writer Boris Akunin does not hide his position and openly opposes the war in Ukraine. Therefore, it attracted the attention of Russian law enforcement agencies.

Boris Akunin, a 67-year-old Russian fiction writer who opposes Putin’s regime, has been placed on the wanted list of “terrorists and extremists”. This information was reported by Russian media with reference to the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service.

It is now known that a criminal case was opened against the author last week under Article 280.3 of Russian law. Boris was also wanted. This was because the author was accused of publicly discrediting Russian troops.

It is also known that the author’s bank accounts will be frozen according to the law. Meanwhile, the sale and distribution of author Akunin’s book was suspended in Russia.

It is worth noting that Akunin himself lived outside Russia, but actively opposed the war on Ukrainian territory.

Of course, the author did not ignore the news and reacted on his Facebook page.

“Hmm. The terrorists declared me a terrorist. But I have not been surprised by the news from the Russian Federation for a long time. Apparently, the previous terrorist writer in Russia was Stepnyak-Kravchinsky, about whom I recently wrote in a novel. “But he stabbed the chief of the gendarmerie,” Akunin said. “For Facebook, this means: Residents of the Russian Federation, please do not swear under my posts, in modern times this means complicity,” he wrote.

He later posted an official comment on his website.

“I wanted to write something derogatory about the fact that they declared me a terrorist in the Russian Federation – like this: “What does it matter to me that these goats declare me in their Kushchevka?” But this isn’t about me. And this is not Kushchevka. This is my unfortunate homeland that has fallen into the hands of criminals. Those who live there – even those who don’t realize it – are hostages. What awaits them next? Like a small incident, the banning of some authors’ books being declared terrorist is actually an important turning point. “Books have not been banned in Russia since the Soviet period. Authors have not been accused of terrorism since the Great Terror. This is not a bad dream, this is actually happening to Russia. Take care of yourself, do not lose yourself if you are in the Russian Federation,” the author wrote .

Let us also remind you that Oksana Bayrak suddenly confessed her love for Ukraine.
