The woman was arrested and identified publicly the day after a speeding car ran a red light and crashed into cars at a busy intersection in windsorhills, cause a fire in accident that killed six peopleincluding a pregnant woman and her unborn child, the California Highway Patrol said Friday.

Nicole Lorraine Linton, 37 was detained at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Westwood, CHP said.

The traffic police said they would recommend charge of grossly negligent homicide when it comes to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, he said.

Identify some of the dead

On Friday morning, authorities identified the pregnant woman and her unborn child as two of the six victims killed in the clash.

This was stated by representatives of the coroner of Los Angeles County. Ashley Ryan and her unborn child died in the incident.

The coroner’s office has not yet released the names of the other four dead victims, but has described them as one child of unspecified age, two women and one man.

The boy who died was the son of Ashery Ryan, her sister said Friday in an interview with ABC 7’s Eyewitness News.

“I drove to the scene,” Ryan’s sister said. “I ran past the cops just because I wanted to feel their energy again. “Yesterday I really lost it,” he said. “Yesterday my family broke up. And we’re still broken.”

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a Mercedes-Benz coupe caused an accident involving up to six vehicles near a gas station, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Terrible accident

Several people were thrown out of cars, two cars caught fire. A news video from the scene showed charred and mangled cars, as well as a child seat among the rubbish strewn across the street.

Surveillance video showed the Mercedes blasting through the intersection, crashing into at least two cars that burst into flames and slammed onto the sidewalk, eventually crashing into a gas station sign at the corner. A band of fire engulfed the car. One vehicle was split in half.

“The whole intersection seemed to be on fire from corner to corner,” witness Harper Washington told ABC7. “Lots of sparks and electricity. I got the impression that at first I thought that a bomb had been dropped on us. I thought another world war had begun. Then I realized that it was the car that had crashed into the sign.”

“When the fire went out and the noise subsided, I realized that there were two cars. You could see people on fire and it’s sad. I really pray for the people and the community.”

Seven victims, including a woman who was driving a Mercedes, were hospitalized. YesHis injuries were described as non-fatal.

The rest of the victims suffered minor injuries, including 33-year-old woman and six children aged 13 months to 15 years, This was stated by the CHP employee Franco Pepi.
