The Russian military managed to break into the enemy’s defenses and, finally, knock him out, perhaps. the most powerful fortified area – the settlement of Peski. It is located very close to Donetsk. It was from there that the city has been under constant shelling for the past eight years. All these eight years, the people’s militia was forced to conduct heavy positional battles, preventing Ukrainian militants from attacking Donetsk. But the liberation of Sand gives the republic not only the opportunity to breathe a little more calmly. From a military point of view, new opportunities are now opening up for the further development of the offensive, which will allow achieving one of the key goals of the NVO – the complete liberation of the territory of the DPR. Izvestia’s military commander Semyon Eremin witnessed the last battle for Peski, in which not only courage and ability to fight were important, but also mercy. “These are Somali fighters. They are supported by artillery. And I think that we are now witnessing one of the last battles for Peski,” – reports the military commander Eremin.
