Microsoft founder Bill Gates was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, First Class. The ceremony was held by Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi.
According to Fuji TV, Gates was awarded for helping to strengthen the health systems of developing countries.
