Lithuania’s authorities expressed a decisive protest of China in connection with restrictions in the field of transport, which were announced due to repeated contacts of Lithuanian politicians with the administration of Taiwan Island. This was announced on Thursday on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Baltic Republic.

It is noted that a decisive note of protest has already been transferred to the attorney in the affairs of the Government of the PRC in Lithuania Cyu Baikhua.

The unilateral decisions of China are unreasonable, violate international law and sovereignty of Lithuania“, – said in the message.

In addition, Lithuania’s foreign policy in persistent form required a recall of unilateral sanctions against the country.

Earlier, the Chinese authorities imposed sanctions against the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania, Agne Vaichukevichyut for an official visit to Taiwan.

Recall, on August 7, a delegation from Lithuania, headed by the deputy minister of transport and communications of the country, Agna Vaicukyavichyut arrived on a five -day visit to Taiwan. The Lithuanian delegation met with representatives of the local Ministry of Transport and visited the production of electric buses. Note that special attention is now focused on the events around Taiwan after a visit to the island of the speaker of the lower house of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi. As part of her Asian tour, Pelosi planned to visit Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. But later the American media said that she could fly on a visit to Taiwan. In China, they asked the United States “not to play with the fire” and warned of a serious military response if Pelosi arrives on the island.

On the day of departure of the aircraft with the speaker of the US Parliament Chamber, China began the exercises with combat firing in the Taiwan Strait. In response, American aircraft carriers headed for the waters of the island and stopped 800 kilometers from it.

After that, the Chinese Foreign Ministry once again warned that Beijing would use force if Pelosi’s visit took place. This will be regarded as an interference in the domestic policy of the PRC, since in the conflict the States actively support the side of Taiwan, regularly supplying weapons there.

Pelosi arrived in Taiwan on August 2. The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed a decisive protest in this regard.
