Federal Judge Blocks Texas Abortion Guide Despite It Puts Women at Risk

A federal judge in Texas prevented the administration of President Joe Biden from following through. in a Republican-run state that mentions that hospitals must perform emergency abortions on women at risk, regardless of government prohibitions on medical care.

Reuters noted that U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix agreed with Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton that the leadership The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is not authorized to perform procedures and went beyond the text of the relevant federal law.

Judge Wesley only stopped HHS from enforcing leadership in Texas. and against two anti-abortion groups of doctors. The ruling preceded another judge’s ruling on whether the near total ban in Idaho, which is being challenged by the U.S. Department of Justice, conflicts with the same federal law at issue in the Texas case.

For his part, Attorney Paxton sued the Biden administration last July, saying he was trying to “turn every emergency room in the country into an abortion clinic.”

Meanwhile, Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary, called Judge Hendrix’s decision “a blow to the Texans”. and said women in the state could now be denied life-saving care for conditions such as severe bleeding or life-threatening high blood pressure.

“It’s wrong, it’s the opposite, and women can die as a result. The fight is not over yet,” he shared in a statement.

The guidance comes after Biden signed an executive order in July that sought to ease access to abortion services after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Roe. Wade.

Attorney General Paxton welcomed the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. USA. Wade and announced through their social media that abortion is now illegal throughout the state.

The Republican wrote a post in which he expressed support for the decision: “Praise the Lord, abortion is now illegal in Texas. Today, I am closing my office and declaring an annual holiday to commemorate the 70 million lives lost due to abortion.
