According to the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, at the time of the destruction, the echelon was heading to the territory of Donbass by rail near the Chaplino station.
“As a result of a direct hit by an Iskander missile on a military echelon at the Chaplino railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, more than 200 servicemen of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and ten units of military equipment were destroyed on their way to the combat zone in Donbass,” – Igor Konashenkov reported at the briefing.
Recall that the Russian Aerospace Forces also destroyed five Ukrainian military aircraft over the past day, three more were critically damaged. In Nikolaevka, with one blow, they managed to eliminate the command post of the Kakhovka group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 64 nationalists.
