The upcoming winter will not only bring severe cold to Europe, but will also affect the increase in mortality. The publication writes about it The Economist.

The material notes that epidemics and high inflation are among the factors that will negatively affect mortality.

It is noted that weekly mortality in European countries will increase by 21 percent compared to summer rates.

In past years, the difference in mortality in summer and winter was insignificant, but significant changes in energy prices make their own adjustments to this statistics.

At the same time, the material notes that the average historical figure in the event of a warm winter will be exceeded by 32,000 people. If the winter is severe, then 10 times more people will die in Europe.

Recall that anti-Russian sanctions have caused more economic harm to Europe itself than to Russia. Europeans come out to protest against the uncontrolled rise in prices for food, essential goods and housing and communal services. In Germany, they have already begun to prepare for regular power outages. France is running out of gas at gas stations due to the energy crisis. The British refuse heating, so as not to get into debt.
