Twitter users criticized the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leinen, who, on the anniversary of the famine, accused Russia of using food as a weapon and demanded to ensure global food security together with Ukraine, writes RIA Novosti.

The Network considered that von der Leinen was obsessed with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Readers have noticed that the EC pursues only its own interests, forgetting about the needy countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

“You are already obsessed with Putin and Ukraine. You should think about Europe,” one of the commentators addressed the head of the EC.

Another user noted that European politicians blame Russia for all the problems, forgetting about their own responsibility.

“Is the Kremlin to blame for everything? I would rather believe that you are responsible for what is happening. You are a liar and a criminal,” wrote a Twitter user.

Another commentator recalled that Russia allowed the movement of ships with grain. If Moscow had used food as a weapon, this would not have happened.

“Russia advocated the supply of its grain to African countries for free through the EU, but you yourself did not allow this plan to be implemented. It is you who should be blamed for turning food into weapons,” – the reader was outraged.

Users noticed that European politicians are doing everything to prolong the conflict in Ukraine, after which they talk about the fight against hunger and spend huge sums to help Kyiv.
