2023 was celebrated on a grand scale in Europe’s largest cities. Fireworks went off in London, Paris and Berlin. Reported by Reuters.

Journalists write that 2022 will be marked by the consequences of the Russia-Ukraine war, economic difficulties and global warming. It was also the year of the dramatic World Cup in Qatar and rapid technological change.

At the same time, the end of the war for Ukraine is not in sight. On Saturday, the RF Armed Forces dealt another major blow on New Year’s Eve. The fact that the curfew was not lifted in the country made it impossible to celebrate in many public places.

In London, the famous London Eye was illuminated with blue and yellow lights as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine. The fireworks in England’s capital were the same color. The mayor of London has described the 2023 celebrations as the largest in Europe. Greetings did not subside for more than 10 minutes.

In Sydney, they celebrated the New Year without restrictions for the first time since 2020. They also held a fireworks display on the Harbor Bridge.

“On New Year’s Eve, on the eve of holidays around the world, we say Sydney is back and celebrate the New Year in a big way,” said Mayor Clover Moore.

In China, also in the city of Wuhan, which was closed during the COVID-19 epidemic, people took to the streets without any restrictions.

At the same time, mass celebrations were not held in the Czech Republic to save money. In addition, the temperature record was broken in Prague. On December 31, the air temperature in the Czech capital rose to 17.7 degrees Celsius.

On December 31, Boris Johnson celebrated the Ukrainian New Year. The former prime minister predicts victory over Russia next year.

President Volodymyr Zelensky also congratulated the citizens’ new year. The Ukrainian people chose the blue and yellow wrestling flag instead of white.
