Donald Trump is starting his 2024 campaign “angrier” and “more purposeful.”

His campaign sent out a fundraising email on Saturday saying “no other candidate is running this early to win all the last votes” and touting himself as “the first Republican presidential candidate to campaign in first two states in the primaries.”

At the first stop of the day, Trump announced that outgoing New Hampshire GOP chairman Stephen Stepanek would join his campaign as a senior adviser.

Trump touted in New Hampshire his new proposal to end federal school funding that they are “promoting critical racial theory or leftist gender ideology” and that parents elect school principals, a plan he called “the ultimate form of local control”.

He also boasted pressure to which he allegedly subjected the government of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, adopt the controversial “Stay in Mexico” program created in 2019 that forces migrants and refugees to stay in Mexico while their asylum claims are processed.

Trump recalled that he then threatened Mexico to impose tariffs on all Mexican imports. unless he meets two conditions: accept the Stay in Mexico program and use security forces to stop migrants heading north.

Second election rally of the day

Former President Donald Trump plans to hold his second campaign rally on Saturday in Columbia, South Carolina.

Several of his campaign aides and allies were poised for a second stop to Trump’s campaign, including senior advisers Brian Jack and Chris LaCivita and former White House social media director Dan Scavino.

With a podium located under the rotunda of the State Capitol and surrounded by flags, the event will have all the makings of a presidential event.

Presidential candidate under investigation

Donald Trump is under investigation by the Department of Justice and Special Counsel Jack Smith oversees two criminal investigations about the storage of classified documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and about parts of the January 6, 2021 uprising at the US Capitol.
