Ukraine has the simplest procedure in Europe for allowing drones to be used in the military.
According to the department’s official page on Facebook, at the moment, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has signed 16 state contracts for the purchase of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. All contracts are signed with domestic manufacturers and developers.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense will significantly increase the supply of UAVs to the Ukrainian army this year. Given the importance and necessity of all types of drones to counter Russian aggression in the current war conditions, about 20 billion UAH should be allocated to this segment.
At the meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and representatives of domestic UAV developers and manufacturers, it was specifically noted that Ukraine currently has the simplest procedure in Europe for allowing the use of UAVs. Army.
If earlier the admission procedure took one and a half to two years, now this period takes several weeks, it was noted at the meeting. Thanks to a simplified procedure, from November 2022 to January 2023 alone, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received 75 applications for UAVs of various types from Ukrainian manufacturers. 13 of them have already received coding and their technical specifications have been approved. 3 more types of UAVs are in the coding phase.
