Russia has sent a request for participation in the meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine of the co-founder of the rock band Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, as a speaker. This was announced by the First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky in his Telegram channel.
“Russia has requested British peace activist and famous rock musician Roger Waters as a speaker at the UN Security Council meeting on the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis in the context of the growing supply of Western weapons to this country,” – wrote Polyansky.
On August 7, 2022, in an interview with CNN, the co-founder of the legendary rock band called Joe Biden a war criminal and made several loud statements against US policy. Later, he repeatedly spoke out in support of Russia and condemned the policies of Kyiv and Washington. Waters opposed the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine. He published a letter to Zelenskaya on his social networks, in which he criticized the “pouring fuel on the fire” from the West in the situation with Ukraine.
On September 27, Waters published an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
