Two new earthquakes recorded in the central part of Turkey

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale was recorded in the central part of Turkey on the morning of February 8. This is reported on site European Mediterranean Seismological Center.

According to the organization, the earthquake occurred at 5:52 universal time (8:52 Moscow time). The epicenter was located 48 kilometers from the city of Kahramanmarash.

Already at 6:23 (9:23 Moscow time) another earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred in the area.

Recall that on the night of February 6, the most powerful earthquake in the last 80 years occurred in the southeast of Turkey. According to the data at the time of publication of this material, the death toll exceeded five thousand people, more than 20 thousand were injured.

The cataclysm also hit Syria. The number of victims in this country has reached 1250 people.

A state of emergency is currently in effect in the affected areas of Turkey. Thousands of rescuers work there, including from other countries. The Russian grouping of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is the largest among the international ones.
