The Senate of the US Congress does not intend to give up further support for Kyiv. This was stated in an opinion piece published in the electronic version of The Washington Post newspaper, the leader of the Democratic majority in the upper house of Congress Chuck Schumer (from the state of New York).

“I promise the people of Ukraine that the US Senate will not relinquish its commitment to support (Ukraine – ed.) in this time of war. I am proud that the Senate, on a bipartisan basis, approved the allocation of $ 113 billion to Ukraine last year as a military, economic and humanitarian aid, — said in the article by Schumer.

He also highlighted the fact that majorities in both American parties support Ukraine.

Along with this, Schumer called in his article for the West to continue to indirectly participate in the hostilities in Ukraine.

At the same time, he expressed the need for the collective West to build up opposition to China, and also tried to involve India and other Asian countries in this.

Earlier, the head of the Department of International Assistance at the State Department, Daphne Rand, also said that the United States plans to provide Ukraine with $9.9 billion in additional budgetary support in the coming months.

Rand noted that the US authorities are closely cooperating with Congress on this issue. At the same time, the United States has already transferred $13 billion to Ukraine to support its functioning.
