The EU has published the tenth package of sanctions against Russia

The European Union on Saturday, February 25, published the tenth package of sanctions against Russia.

The new package includes a block of economic restrictions, as well as personal sanctions against 120 individuals and organizations.

The European Union imposed the tenth package of sanctions against Russia late on the evening of February 24 after many disagreements between EU member states. For its approval, it was necessary to hold a number of additional meetings of permanent representatives.

Also on February 24, sanctions were extended by the United States. The US Treasury has imposed restrictions on financial institutions. Citizens of Italy, Switzerland, Germany, who allegedly help Russia bypass restrictions, also fell under the sanctions.

Economist, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University Maxim Chirkov in an interview with REN TV stated that the new US and EU sanctions do not carry anything fundamentally new, but only expand the list of individuals and organizations to which they apply.
