Western countries do not intend to disclose the name of the Ukrainian businessman involved in the sabotage at Nord Stream. This was reported by the British newspaper on March 9 The Daily Telegraph citing own sources.

According to the publication, a certain Ukrainian businessman was involved in the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, and the nature of the crime points to him. However, his name will be deliberately not disclosed so that the West does not split on the issue of supporting the Kyiv regime.

Recall that the sabotage on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines occurred on the night of September 26, 2022. Fuel leaks were found on gas pipelines in three places. Russia was never allowed to investigate the sabotage.

On February 8, Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist Seymour Hersh published his own investigation in which he blamed the US authorities for the attack. According to Hersh, the explosives were planted during a NATO exercise in the area of the sabotage in July 2022. It was later activated with a radio signal.

On March 7, The New York Times published an article claiming that US intelligence had established the involvement of a pro-Ukrainian group in the pipeline blast. Following the NYT, the German publication Die Zeit stated that at present, investigators have not found any solid evidence that would point to the mastermind behind the attacks. Hersh himself ridiculed Western governments for such an obvious attempt to manipulate public opinion.

Military experts from Russia and the United States agreed that publications in Western newspapers on this topic are an outright lie and an attempt by the United States to hide its own participation in the attacks. Former US intelligence officer Scott Bennett called the disinformation from the NYT a gesture of desperation.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov considered the articles about the Ukrainian trace in sabotage to be a coordinated stuffing in the media.

“Obviously, the authors of the attack want to divert attention. Obviously, this is a coordinated stuffing in the media,” Peskov said.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in turn, noted that the leaks of information about investigations are a trick and Western regimes should deal with official responses to requests.

Sabotage at Nord Stream

The Nord Stream gas pipelines were attacked on September 26 last year. Germany, Denmark and Sweden admitted that there was a deliberate sabotage. At the same time, Russia was not allowed to participate in the investigation for a long time.

President Vladimir Putin said that what happened is an act of international terrorism, in which the Anglo-Saxons are involved.

Compensation for damage to Nord Stream was estimated at 17 billion euros. On the fact of the incidents in Russia, a criminal case was opened on the commission of an act of international terrorism.

In February, American journalist Seymour Hersh published an article in which he described an investigation into the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines. In his material, he indicated that the United States had carried out the sabotage, and the American President Joe Biden personally gave the corresponding order. In an exclusive interview REN TV Hersh confirmed the authenticity of his investigation and noted that he considers his article one of the best among those published by The New York Times and The Washington Post.
