A 44-year-old man from the United Russia party recorded a video message to reporters and promised to tell which local officials had been stealing from the city budget for 5 years.
In Nizhnevartovsk, Russia, a local mayor’s office worker started shooting after consuming 80 tablets of antihistamine medication. The man locked himself in an apartment with his son and called journalists to demand that several officials be hanged in the city’s central square. Mash reports.

The man recorded a vocal appeal and sent it to reporters. He promised to tell which of the local officials he stole “unless he’s killed by snipers” because he’s been collecting this type of information for 5 years. His main demand was the public execution of at least 6 officials.
“My demands are simple. Hang out in the town square,” he said.
Then, the Russian media reported that the residents of the two closest houses were evacuated, and the officer opened fire when the law enforcement officers tried to enter the flat. No one was reported injured in the clash, and the 44-year-old man was eventually taken into custody.
Later, RosSMI was informed that the shooter was a former employee of the Nizhnevartovsk mayor and was fired “a week ago for abusing alcohol.” He served as the head of the maintenance and property operations department in the mayor’s office. The attacker is also known to be a member of Putin’s United Russia party.
