‘This is very dangerous’: Zelensky denies Ukraine’s involvement in undermining Nord Streams

According to the president, the publication of materials containing accusations against Kiev is only in the interest of Russia or business groups interested in ensuring that strong sanctions against Moscow are not imposed.

The President of Ukraine commented on world media information that wrote on September 27 that Ukraine was involved in undermining Russian pipelines in the Baltic Sea. According to him, journalists write such material in the interests of business groups that do not want to lose money due to sanctions against the Russian Federation. He noted that Kiev had nothing to do with the sabotage. The head of state said this during a briefing with Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin on March 10.

“As for North Stream, we have nothing to do with it… We clearly understand where it comes from, on which media platforms, in which states, and where this information can come from. I think it’s very dangerous for some independent media to do that.” Such steps,” he said.

The president said that such materials are only useful for Russia or business groups interested in ensuring that strong sanctions against Moscow are not imposed.

“Unfortunately, these groups cannot be on Russian soil alone. But we need to be aware of what we are fighting. We are fighting the enemy and Russia is the only enemy. They have nothing but money because they do not see themselves,” he added.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that there are some states that have helped Russia circumvent sanctions. There are such countries even among EU and NATO members. At the same time, they provide aid to Kiev and declare their support.

“On the other hand, they are circumventing the sanctions, they are making tens of billions of dollars here, and their trade turnover with the Russian Federation is increasing compared to the pre-war period … I would pay attention to this and analyze Who needs this, who needs such disinformation.

Recall that on March 8, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that one should not make hasty conclusions about Ukraine’s participation in the undermining of the Nord Streams. According to him, the operation could have been carried out under a “false flag” and the probability is “just as high”.

At the same time, The Times claimed that the sabotage was financed by a Ukrainian businessman, but wrote that he had no connection with the Ukrainian authorities. According to journalists, Western intelligence agencies decided not to make this information public in order to protect Ukraine.
