The film of the Yakut directors lost the “Oscar” to “The Elephant Whisperers”

Exit, a documentary by Yakut directors Maxim and Evgenia Arbugaev, lost the Oscar to The Elephant Whisperers in the Best Short Documentary nomination.

Exit is a short documentary film about a lonely marine biologist who lives for months in a dilapidated hut on the coast of the Chukchi Sea, watching walruses. The picture is dedicated to the problem of global warming.

This year’s Best Short Documentary was nominated for the Indian-American film The Elephant Whisperer, as well as the American films How the Year Measures?, The Martha Mitchell Effect, and Stranger at the Gates.

Earlier it became known that the award in the category “Best Animated Feature Film” went to the film “Pinocchio Guillermo del Toro”.

The 95th Academy Awards are taking place on March 13 in Los Angeles.
