American actor Brendan Fraser won the Oscar for Best Actor in the film The Whale. The 95th Academy Awards were held on March 13 in Los Angeles.

The film “The Whale” directed by Darren Aronofsky tells about the obese man Charlie, who once left his family for the sake of his lover. On the verge of death, Charlie tries to reconnect with his teenage daughter, whom they haven’t seen in years. The film’s debut screening at the Venice Film Festival ended with a six-minute standing ovation in honor of the film and the lead actor.
The main and six more statuettes this year at the Oscars went to the film “Everything is everywhere and at once.”
Earlier it became known that the award in the category “Best Animated Feature Film” went to the film “Pinocchio Guillermo del Toro”. But the Russian directors Maxim and Evgenia Arbugaev with the short documentary “Exit” lost the statuette to the Indian-American film “Elephant Whispers”.
