The activities of the US military in the immediate vicinity of the borders of Russia is completely unacceptable. The corresponding statement was made by the Russian Ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov.
“The unacceptable activity of the US military in the immediate vicinity of our borders is a cause for concern. We perfectly understand the purpose for which such unmanned reconnaissance and strike vehicles are used.“, – said in his statement, which was published by the press service of the Russian Embassy.
Antonov noted that American drones collect information about Russian troops, which is then transmitted to Kyiv.
The ambassador stressed that Moscow is counting on the cessation of American drone flights near the borders of Russia.
Earlier, Western media, and then representatives of the State Department and the White House, announced an incident with a Russian fighter jet and a US UAV in the sky over the Black Sea. At the same time, the details of the incident were not given, however, the US military hastened to unsubstantiatedly lay the responsibility for the fall of the drone on the Russian Federation.
The Russian Defense Ministry noted that an American MQ-9 drone flying towards the Russian border in the Crimean region collided with water itself, the fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces did not come into contact with it.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the flight of the US unmanned aerial vehicle was carried out with transponders turned off, violating the boundaries of the area of the temporary regime for the use of airspace, which was established for the purpose of conducting a special operation, brought to all users of international airspace and published in accordance with international standards.
