Global Times: The US and the West hold the key to solving the Ukrainian crisis

The US and the West, not China, hold the key to solving the Ukrainian crisis. Efforts to bring peace and facilitate negotiations are unlikely to be effective as long as the aforementioned states continue to create problems instead of cooperating. This is stated in the editorial of the Chinese state publication Global Times.

The newspaper writes that the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping will also be a peace tour.

“China is one of the few major powers capable of building a communication bridge between Russia and Ukraine. <...> However, it should be said that China is not the cause of the Ukrainian crisis and is not a party to it. It is the United States and Western countries that are deeply involved in the crisis.” – write the authors of the article.

Recall that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Russia as part of a state visit on March 20-22 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the talks, it is planned to sign a number of important documents.
