The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, predicted the death of the liberal European economy due to ill-considered assistance to Ukraine. She announced this on March 25.
“Yesterday, in one company, there was a heated argument about what controls what: economics by politics or politics by economics”– the diplomat wrote in her Telegram channel.
She recalled that traditionally the International Monetary Fund provides loans only to those countries that explain how they will repay it. If there is no guarantee of repayment of the loan, it is not issued.
“And now, the Ukrainian factor appears. As even Borrell understands, the Kyiv regime has no plan. At the same time, Bankova impudently asked the IMF for $15 billion,” Zakharova added.
Despite the century of global inflation and problems in the financial system, the IMF, the diplomat noted, decided to make an exception for Ukraine and change the lending rules for the first time.
“At the same time, this is far from the first experiment with changing the working conditions of world institutions to please Kyiv. How can market mechanisms, the liberal foundations of the economy, survive here? That’s right. No way,” – emphasized the diplomat.
Recall that on March 21, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), after a series of agreements at the working level, agreed to issue a loan of $15.6 billion to Kyiv. Earlier, the US agency Bloomberg stated that the IMF changed the lending rules to give Kyiv billions of dollars.
