A 16-year-old teenager died as a result of a series of arsons by unknown persons on a number of buildings of sports complexes and sports committees in the city of Padang in Indonesia. The arson occurred amid the fact that the country was deprived of the right to host the World Youth Football Championship, reports ANTARA.

At the moment, five buildings are known to have been set on fire. Firefighters were able to stop the fires.

In addition, the circumstances of the death of the deceased teenager are currently being investigated.

Earlier, the International Football Federation (FIFA) deprived Indonesia of the right to host the World Youth Championship for football players under 20 years old after the governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, called for Israel not to be allowed to the tournament.

In response, football fans in Indonesia openly opposed the policies of FIFA and the country’s authorities, whose actions led to the cancellation of an important event for the country.

Indonesia is currently waiting for FIFA sanctions. It is assumed that they can affect the future of all football in the Asian state.

The World Youth Football Championship was to be held in Bali in May-June of this year.
