Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky is traveling to Warsaw to prepare for talks with Russia. This statement was made by the ex-commander of the ground forces of Poland, General Waldemar Skshipchak.
He spoke with the publication Rzeczpospolita. According to Skshipchak, there is now a “strategic impasse” in the Ukrainian conflict. Everything points to the approach of the moment when the crisis can be solved only by political means. That is why the expert expressed the opinion that in the near future the Russian Federation and Ukraine will try to reach a compromise.
As for Zelensky’s visit to Warsaw, this is not a secret trip. The Ukrainian leader travels there to meet with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda.
“I think this is the first of a series of such trips. Zelensky needs to start creating an atmosphere of political support around him. He has military assistance, but now that the end of the conflict is nearing, in my opinion, it is political support that he needs”says the general.
In conclusion, he also added that the accumulating weariness of the West from this crisis will accelerate the resolution of the conflict.
